Manchester United’s decision on youngster, Zidane Iqbal’s future has been revealed.
The youngster will remain at the club this season rather than go out on loan.
This is following his impressive performance at the club’s preseason under manager Erik ten Hag.
The 19-year-old was part of United’s squad that toured Asia and Australia Thailand and Australia and he’s been one of the biggest beneficiaries.
The teenager had been expected to go out on loan this season having signed a new long-term contract with the club earlier this year.
But Ten Hag feels Iqbal’s future would be best served by remaining at the Theatre of Dreams this season and he’s in line to form part of the first-team squad.
With a hectic schedule ahead of the World Cup in November, Iqbal could pick up minutes in the Europa League and the cup competitions.
There is space in United’s midfield after the exits of Andreas Pereira, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba this summer.
United have signed Christian Eriksen and remain hopeful that Frenkie de Jong will arrive.
