Police in Kano State have arrested three persons for allegedly producing fake Motor Vehicles Documents.
Spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to LAGOS HERALD.
He said the arrest was in continuation of a case of suspected Motor Vehicles theft, where one Odinaka Godwin and two others were arrested in possession of nine (9) Pairs of Motor Vehicles number plates and a total of ten (10) Motor Vehicles.
Kiyawa explained that discreet investigation also led to the arrest of 57 years Abdulra’uf Olalade and his accomplices, Abdullahi Suleman and Suleman Ibrahim.
The suspects confessed to having specialized in producing fake Motor Vehicles Documents.
He said a discreet investigation was in progress, after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
The Kano State Police spokesman said seven out of the ten stolen vehicles were handed over to the rightful owners, while the remaining three are not yet claimed.
They included: Toyota Camry LE Motor Vehicle, Golden Colour with Registration Number ADK-885AE, Ekiti, Toyota RAV4 Motor Vehicle, Black in colour with Registration Number APP-35BP Lagos and Toyota Camry LE Motor Vehicle, Ash in Colour without Registration Number.
The command said anyone whose Motor Vehicle was stolen and discovered among the three should report at the PPRO office, Bompai Police Headquarters Kano, or contact 08168629521, 08105359575.
