Senate, Reps receive Bill on ‘Ease of Doing Business’ from President Buhari

LAGOS HERALD President Muhammadu Buhari has transmitted the Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2022 to the House of Representatives.

The Bill was transmitted in a letter to the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila dated June 17th, 2022 and was read by the Deputy  Speaker, Ahmed Idris Wase who presided over plenary on Tuesday.

“Pursuant to Section 58(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I forward herewith, the Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provision) Bill 2022 for the kind consideration of the House of Representatives,” part of the letter read.

Similarly, the Senate received the Business Facilitation Miscellaneous Provision Bill 2022 for consideration.

The bill was transmitted in a letter by President Muhammadu Buhari and read by the President of the Senate Ahmed Lawan at the start of plenary on Tuesday.

Buhari said that the bill transmitted to the Red Chamber was pursuant to Section 58 (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended).

The bill according to him, seeks to promote ease of doing business in Nigeria by amending relevant legislations.

He equally expressed hopes that his request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the upper legislative chamber.
