– Ebonyi Governor, David Umahi has endorsed Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, to succeed him in 2023.

The Governor disclosed this on Saturday, during the internment of the father of Chioma Nweze, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment.

“To the people of Okposi and the people of Ebonyi State, I present to you the people’s choice in the person of Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, and I want Ebonyi South people to know that when it was Ebonyi South’s turn, an Abakaliki man was contesting and the Abakaliki people said no, so now is the time to repay them.

I want to promise you that this ‘Divine Mandate’ we arrived with will continue and that when this man comes on board, we would not stray from Divine Mandate, so fear not; there is no one that God sends up that the people will not criticise, God will not overlook your sacrifices if others do not accept them”.

It will not be about promises in 2023; if you claim you will do B, we will expect you to demonstrate how you will do A. In all honesty, APC will run their campaign on the basis of my and others’ performance,” he said.
